A catalogue built since 1979, and no way for a buyer to see it.

Al Abbar Medical Group has supplied laboratories, hospitals, and clinics across the UAE and GCC since 1979. Its range was real, deep, and almost invisible online.

The client

Al Abbar Medical Group comprises Al Abbar Medical and Scientific Supplies and Al Buheira Medical Supplies, operating out of Al Qusais, Dubai. The group supplies analyzers, diagnostic kits, reagents, lab instruments, and disposables to hospitals, clinics, and research facilities, backed by in-house biomedical engineers and its own logistics team, and represents more than ten international manufacturers.

The challenge

A supplier with four decades of range had no way to show it. Product information lived in PDFs, price lists, and the heads of the sales team, which meant the catalogue only reached buyers a salesperson had personally visited. A procurement officer comparing analyzers at 9pm, or a lab manager checking whether the group carried a specific reagent line, had nowhere to look. For a business whose competitive advantage is breadth of range and depth of partnerships, that advantage was doing no work at all outside a sales meeting.

What we changed

We built the site from scratch around how procurement actually searches, not around how the company is organised internally. The catalogue is structured into the categories buyers think in, diagnostic kits, analyzers, lab instruments, lab disposables, and staining solutions, with individual product pages carrying the specifications that decide a purchase: throughput, capacity, test counts, sensitivity, operating detail. The international partner brands the group represents are presented as the credibility signal they are, rather than a logo strip nobody can act on.

How it works

Every product page ends where a buyer's decision does, at an enquiry, with the product context carried into the request so the sales team knows what is being asked about before they reply. Category pages let someone narrow by discipline instead of scrolling a single flat list. The structure is deliberately shallow: a buyer reaches any product in two or three clicks from the homepage, and the group can add new lines without the navigation collapsing.

The outcome

The range is now visible to every buyer who searches, not only the ones a salesperson has reached. Enquiries arrive with the product already identified, which removes the first two emails of every conversation. Just as importantly, the group now has one authoritative place its partners, its customers, and search engines can all read, instead of a catalogue that existed only as attachments.

Technology

Static site architecture for speed and reliability, structured product and category pages, schema markup so search engines and AI assistants can read the catalogue, and enquiry routing that carries product context.
